- Single “Love Me” being released in 2016
"From the moment I held my guitar and started to sing, I was about 15 at the time, I realized that I had stumbled onto something that was quite special to me," says Forest Blakk. "Most people spend lifetimes trying to figure out what they want to do, what they're meant to do. For me, the thinking was over. This was it."
Influenced by artists such as Joe Cocker, Don Henley, Dustin Kensrue, Alex Clare, Ben Howard and The Neighbourhood, to mention a few, Forest Blakk's rhythmic pop-infused songs of foot-stomping sing-alongs and emotional rollercoasters are sure to strike a chord with anyone who hears them.
"On stage, I've always been open and transparent through my lyrics and my music," Blakk says. "I love connecting to an audience, but most of all I love when they connect back. There's nothing like seeing people sing and dance to a song I've poured everything into," states Blakk. "I believe in saying things as I feel them and when that connects with someone it reminds me why I do what I do. I admire artists like Ed Sheeran, Macklemore, Alexander, and Allen Stone. They seem to be on the cusp of the new wave of music, and I absolutely love it!"
