"A beguiling romance of dreamy synths" - Bullett Magazine
Toronto-based duo FEATURETTE was formed by singer Lexie Jay and drummer, Jon Fedorsen. Like their synth-heavy dream pop contemporaries Phantogram and Tove Lo, FEATURETTE is influenced by the emotionally charged, heavy hitting electro-pop sounds coming from Northern Europe and New Zealand. After receiving a full recording grant from FACTOR Canada, the duo released their two-part debut (limited edition) EP with CRAVE, Volume 1 and Volume 2 in October, 2015, via Exclaim! and followed up with a sold out soft- release party at the Burdock in Toronto. Selections from CRAVE have been featured on Bullett Media, Noise Porn, Audio Fuzz, Silent Shout, Wonky Sensitive and many more.
FEATURETTE announced the release of their video, "Broken," which premiered on renown Canadian media outlet, NOW Magazine, and US tastemaker, LADYGUNN Magazine, in February, 2016. "Broken," is a featured track off the album, CRAVE Vol.1, and garnered much attention from the media. The duo was nominated for ‘Best in Pop' at the Toronto Independent Music Awards last year, and were chosen as one of the ‘Top 15 Acts to See' at Canadian Music Week, alongside notables Brave Shores, Noel Gallagher, and Verité.
July 2016, FEATURETTE introduced lead single, Broken to Canadian radio. FEATURETTE singer/writer Lexie Jay commenting on the storyline of Broken says:
"It's about going after what you think you want - a short terms solution -
a distraction from fixing what's actually broken within."
FEATURETTE will release their full-length debut LP album, CRAVE, in August, 2016.
After Playing at the renown COCA conference in June 2016 with excellent reception, FEATURETTE will embark on the first phase of touring key campus venues, as well as hot spots across Canada and the US this Summer and Fall in support of their debut LP, CRAVE.
