Canadian duo Heartstreets entwine their fluid, fluttering voices in a unique sound that nods to the '90s mixed with electronic, soul and R&B. Inseparable since elementary school, both girls have been crafting their sound independently for quite some time now. After long deliberation, the girls have hand-picked amazing songs that will make up their debut EP titled You And I which is set to release this April. Their urban beats, catchy melodies and clever lyrics will definitely be relatable to a wide-array of people.
Gab and Emma grew up in Montreal and have known each other for 15 years. They always had the same passion for music and performing. The R&B tone of Gab's sultry voice fis perfectly with Emma's intricate rap-style story telling, making the duo a perfect match. After the great response following a string of successful single releases last year including tracks like "Under My Skin" and "Not Around", the girls were able to headline shows at the Montreal Jazz Festival as well as the RBC Bluesfest in Ottawa. They have also opened for the likes of The Internet and DCF in Toronto. The girls are now ready to swoon over crowds with their debut EP titled You and I, which is due at the end of April this year.
Their debut single "Crawling South" has been widely acclaimed ever since its release in early February. Premiered on Complex, the single and music video were well received by a wide audience of new fans cross North America. "Crawling South" has charted #6 on Spotify's Viral 50 Chart, as well as placements on CBC's The Strombo Show, and rotation on Much Music and Musiqueplus. You can catch Heartstreets performing as the opening act for Dead Obies in Joliette on March 26th 2016.
