BIOGRAPHY

Rosie & the Riveters are four fiercely talented and sassy dames from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, who perform uplifting folk music with a vintage 1940s flair! Their original songs feature sophisticated harmonies, body percussion, scintillating dance moves, humour and just enough ooh-la-la to charm your socks off! Along with whoops, hollers, and mile-wide smiles, they create a sound and sight that is lighthearted and captivating for all music lovers.

They are inspired by Rosie the Riveter the feminist icon who represents the women's movement into the workforce during WWII and embodies the strength and power that thrives in every woman. The Riveters are about empowering women to be ambassadors for change in their community and to support this vision, they invest 20% of their merchandise sales to support other women's projects around the world through KIVA.org.

Since the band's formation in 2011 the Riveters have quickly taken the folk scene by storm and become media darlings! They've been featured in numerous media outlets –including a feature segment in CTV's ETalk Daily's "On the Rise" music segment – and were most recently called "one of the best live you'll ever see" by CBC Radio 2 host, Rich Terfry. With sold out shows from coast to coast, showcases across Canada and the USA, and performances at festivals like the Winnipeg Folk Festival, it's easy to see why these sassy dames are a force to be reckoned with!

These hilarious beauties released their debut studio album last fall and have since performed sold-out shows across Canada. Good Clean Fun! peaked at #9 on Earshot Magazines' national folk/roots chart and their single, Ain't Gonna Bother, reached #5 of the CBC Radio 2 Top 20.

Allyson Reigh, Alexis Normand, Melissa Nygren, and Farideh Olsen are the charming women who make up Rosie & the Riveters.
