Ontario Summer Music Festival

After hosting an annual summer festival in various locations throughout southern Ontario for six years, the music festival was making the move to McLennan Park in Kitchener, ON in 2014. For their first outdoor summer festival in their new location, festival organizers were looking for a partner that could take the reins of talent programming while they dealt with the logistics of a new festival site.

WHAT WE DID

  • Developed a 2-day music festival schedule designed to draw attendees
  • Provided advice on site staffing needs
  • Offered, negotiated and contracted performers including issuing all necessary deposits and payments
  • Secured festival insurance requirements
  • Advised on ticketing including scaling, onsales and VIP package development
  • THE RESULT

This music festival marked the completion of its move to Kitchener on July 2014, with the opening of the gates at the annual summer festival. With a lineup that included such legendary artists as Aerosmith, Bryan Adams, Slash, Styx, Collective Soul, Big Wreck, Moist and Kim Mitchell, more than 25,000 eager fans poured into the park each day. Add in events leading up to the festival launch like the food festival, short film screenings and live entertainment at Kitchener City Hall and final attendance numbers landed at 60,000. The festival, by all accounts, was a huge success with more than $7 million being pumped into the Kitchener economy.
