Jeff Martin, lead singer of the iconic Canadian rock band, The Tea Party, has been labeled everything from "child prodigy", "virtuoso guitarist", to a "singer with perfect pitch". He is an artist that transcends typical musical genres, and his music is some-what a musical healer for fans across the globe. Martin's life has been a vast, exquisite journey whereby he has unashamedly immersed himself in a myriad of cultures, and learnt to play the traditional instruments of those cultures from the masters of the craft… in particular the Middle East, and sub continents of India. His home and studio are filled with ancient and exotic instruments collected during his travels- all of which he plays fluently.Extending on his songwriting and artistry, Jeff Martin recently celebrated a milestone anniversary of becoming the youngest producer of a record for the iconic EMI label (The Tea Party's ‘Splendor Solis' album produced in 1992). Fast forward more than twenty five years and almost 4 million record sales later, Jeff Martin's unique life path, musical etymology and output have him placed as a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer of the highest calibre. All the while garnering acclaim from music industry stalwarts for his multi-skilled creative talents.Jeff Martin's odyssey into exploring the history and plethora of sounds dates right back to his childhood, when he travelled from his hometown Windsor, Ontario with his father (a Bass player) to visit the blues haunts of Detroit and Michigan (USA). At a young age Martin understood and respected the blues and by the age of 11 was proficient in improvisation. Upon first listening to the Beatles album ‘Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' – and particularly the George Harrison track ‘Within You Without You' – the distinct blend of Indian Classical music featuring the Harmonium felt ‘known' to him – as though he had played it before..Jeff formed the Tea Party with lifelong friends, Stuart Chatwood and Jeff Burrows in 1990 after playing in bands together throughout their childhood. With a career spanning over 25 years including 8 major-label releases, The Tea Party have successfully gained the attention of fans on a worldwide level, as well as touring a countless number of times globally. Much of the band's success can be attributed to their phenomenal stage presence and impeccable artistry and musicianship. Blending a wide variety of instruments and sound textures the trio's sonic range draws heavily on rock and blues from the 1970s, as well as displaying psychedelic influences with elements of Middle Eastern, Celtic and Mediterranean music. Jeff has carved out a distinctive and successful career for himself as a solo artist, including various side projects with other renowned artists. As an acclaimed and highly sought after producer, his art is truly a complete circle of passion and creativity. He has a hunger for the knowledge of art, history, the esoteric, music and melody which has led him to live and experience exotic places such as Egypt, Turkey, Prague, Italy, France, Morocco, Ireland and Australia, where he now calls home. Wether with the Tea Party or as a solo artist, Jeff has enjoyed huge success touring Canada and Australia extensively as well as the breadth of Europe, the Middle East, the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Norway, Turkey and Lebanon. His legion of global fans have proved to be lifelong, dedicated and extremely vocal on social media, always reminding him to come back and perform in their country.
