OBJECTIVE

The Canadian National Exhibition (CNE), Toronto's largest annual end-of-summer fair, collaborated with TFA to diversify their 2023 Bandshell Stage lineup with unique, themed programming.

SOLUTION

TFA partnered with Straight Up Productions and local queer organizations to introduce an annual event at the CNE. They identified Tynomi Banks, an iconic Toronto drag queen from Canada's Drag Race, to headline the inaugural Drag EXtravaganza. Joined by Mo Heart, Jan Sport, and Ivory Towers, this event marked the first-ever drag performance at the CNE Bandshell Stage in its 140-year history.

RESULT

The Drag EXtravaganza attracted over 4,000 attendees who enjoyed an unforgettable evening of music, comedy, dance, and fashion. Beyond its entertainment value, the event represented a significant milestone in celebrating queerness and drag culture at the CNE.
